In an attempt to break away from bedazzled eyebrows, violet eyes and bold beauty trends, designer Marc Jacobs and makeup artist Francois Nars decided to keep thinks simple – by going with no make up at all. We could easily talk about the plush carpeting, the military style outfits, or the gigantic pink Barbie house that Marc Jacobs used to close New York Fashion Week. But there’s something truly inspiring behind the idea of raw beauty emerging amidst an array of colour, texture and glamour.
Sure, we’re used to seeing supermodels Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, and Adriana Lima dolled up in inconceivably beautiful outfits. Instead, Jacobs and Nars went back to one of their favourite looks, “bare skin, nothing on the lips or eyes, just beautiful skin.”
We love this rudimentary view of fashion and it’s a great message to end the week on,
“What you see is what you get.”
